The Aldeburgh Beach Lookout

The Aldeburgh Beach Lookout is a small tower overlooking one of the most famous beaches on The Suffolk Coast. Since it was opened in 2011 by curator and art collector Caroline Wiseman, this ‘tiny temple’ for artists, poets, musicians, performers, writers and thinkers has become an influential force in The Suffolk Coast’s art scene. It’s been a temporary studio for over 50 resident artists of all different types; a place where they can create with absolute freedom in a town that is arguably the cultural capital of The Suffolk Coast.

Some of Britain’s most influential artists have taken residency at the Aldeburgh Beach Lookout, and with a new creative arriving every week there is a constant stream of new and exciting work being produced in this perfectly placed tower.

Every Saturday the Aldeburgh Beach Lookout puts on an exhibition, at which the departing resident displays their week’s work.

The exhibitions are open from 11am – 4pm, with free drinks available between 12pm and 2pm.
