The Pump Street Bakery Is An Award Winner

The Pump Street Bakery has been chosen as a joint winner in the 2012 BBC Food and Farming Awards. The artisan bakery in Orford now shares the title of “Best Food Producer” with the Westcombe Dairy in Somerset. Judges selected Chris Brennan’s small, family-owned bakery and café for its combination of ethical production methods and delicious produce. All of the Pump Street Bakery’s breads and pasties are handmade daily in the village. The nomination said: “If sound ethics are regarded as part and parcel of producing good value and delicious foods made with local ingredients, I think they deserve to win an award!”

Following the nomination the Pump Street Bakery received national attention and glowing reviews, notably in the Telegraph Magazine. Now that the bakery has won the Best Food Producer category, its popularity is set to go up and up.
