Cultural Festivals Coming Up...

This weekend sees the culmination of a 10-day long festival of arts the High Tide Festival in Aldeburgh. Featuring a programme of music, face to events, exhibitions and plays, the festival has drawn famous names such as Meera Syal, Christopher Eccleston, Vanessa Redgrave and Sir Richard Eyre.The CutFrom the 10th to the 25th October, the annual Halesworth Arts Festival will be delivering an extensive programme of events from The Cut and St Mary's Church, both situated in the town. The festival will showcase a range of classical and world music; including 'Cellophany', eight cellos on one stage playing Beethoven, Schubert and Liszt and 'Shir' and exciting combination of energy and emotion through dance.There's art and cinema too, with showings of the National Theatre's Hamlet and the silent movie 'Picadilly', complete with live instrumentalists.If a coastal getaway, packed with literature and food is what you need this winter, the Ways With Words literature festival takes place in the seaside town of Southwold. With talks and workshops from a huge range of authors including Patrick Barkham, Melvyn Bragg, Michael Buerk and Terry Waite, the festival draws a crowd from far and wide and many of the events get booked up months in advance.
