There is an outstanding programme of productions set to grace Suffolk Coast theatres this season, from musicals, plays, dance and comedy. We’ve plucked out a few gems which we think are guaranteed to provide you with the ultimate in entertainment…
Check out the first class line-up this spring at The Marina Theatre in Lowestoft – If you’re a fan of musical theatre, you won’t be disappointed!
First up is ‘Tell me on a Sunday’ (Wednesday 13th April), Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black’s classic musical set in 1980’s New York. Jodie Prenger takes the lead role, previously performed by legendary musical stars, Marti Webb and Sarah Brightman. This 2016 production also includes an intimate post-show chat with Jodie.
Avenue Q is the next to take to The Marina Theatre stage after a five year run in the West End and smash hit tour in 2014. This irresistibly charming musical is hilarious, cheeky and uproariously entertaining, with a terrific batch of songs performed by a cast of hugely talented performers and puppets. Avenue Q runs from 23rd – 28th May. The show is suitable for audiences 14 years and over.
Further down The Suffolk Coast, the Ipswich Regent & Corn Exchange is not to be outdone!
Annie, the world’s favourite family musical, comes to the Ipswich Regent for one week only (25th – 30th April), starring Birds of a Feather’s Lesley Joseph as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. This stunning musical promises to pull out all the stops, and includes the unforgettable songs, Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You and the tear jerking, Tomorrow.
Prepare for a feline fest when Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking musical, CATS returns to The Ipswich Regent. The show comes direct from its sell-out seasons at the London Palladium, for one week only from Monday 6th t0 Saturday 11th June.
The charming seaside resort of Felixstowe is delighted to see the curtain going up at the Spa Pavilion Theatre again after a short closure in 2013. Now under new ownership, there’s an exciting programme of entertainment planned for the year ahead…
