Cookhouse Restaurant at Suffolk Food Hall

The Cookhouse Restaurant is a unique place to eat or have a drink whilst enjoying stunning views down the river.

Part of the Suffolk Food Hall emporium underneath the Orwell Bridge, the Cookhouse is bistro in style focusing on local produce and seasonal recipes; making it ideal for a delicious freshly prepared lunch, a treat for the kids, a celebratory dinner, Sunday brunch… and more.

Set in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for the Suffolk Coast, visitors enjoy stunning views of the River Orwell. The Cookhouse building also hosts commercial production kitchens for a range of food and drink artisans, along with private function rooms and a cookery school running a variety of events. Children also love to play on the unique jumping pillow, while parents enjoy a coffee in the very popular café.

The Cookhouse is busy most days of the week (so booking is advisable) and opens Friday and Saturday evenings (check on-line for themed nights and private dining options). The setting and the style of food makes Afternoon Tea a popular choice although a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for the full spread, as it’s all baked from scratch. See website for details, along with sample seasonal menus. There is also ample free parking and group tours are welcome.
