The Granary Teashop and Café 1885 at Snape Maltings

Delicious local produce, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea set in one of the coast's most stunning landscapes at Snape Maltings

The Granary Tea Shop

The popular granary tea shop has been open since 1972 and is a well established café within the fabulous independent shopping experience that is Snape Maltings. It is open from 10am until 5.30 (depending on the season) and offers a lovely range local produce.
The Granary Tearoom Snape Maltings
Enjoy the extensive range of teas, coffees and hot chocolate with wonderful cakes and slices. The lunch time menu caters for all tastes with delicious sandwiches, granary wedges and paninis all freshly made to order. Soup, savoury tartlets and jacket potatoes provide a more substantial offering – perfect after a walk alongside the River Alde and through the village of Snape.

Afternoon tea is an absolute must - locally made fruit scone with Tiptree jam, clotted cream and a pot of tea. There is a savoury alternative with a cheese scone, cheese and Stokes pickle. The perfect location for a relaxed refreshment stop with plenty of seating outside too if the weather is fine! Bookings are welcome for larger parties. Please give us a ring. Dogs are welcome to join you in the outside seating area.

Cafe 1885

Café 1885 provides a wonderful opportunity to sit and look at the fantastic range of beautiful items in Snape Maltings House and Garden section, whilst enjoying an amazing all day breakfast or a delightful cake with the perfect cappucino.
Cafe 1885 Snape Maltings
The Café offers a wide range of brunch, light bites and lunch (from 12 noon). The menu changes each month and we are very proud that the Cafe recently won the Suffolk Food and Drink award for their use of local produce. Homemade Sutton Hoo chicken liver and thyme pate with toasted granary bread and Dingley Dell pork burger, coleslaw, pickles, chunky chips and smoked ketchup are just a sample of the delights on offer.

Please do ring to book a table – it does get very busy…..
