Here in Suffolk we’re exceptionally lucky to have such a rich and diverse coastal landscape on our doorstep. It’s really important that young people are encouraged to get out and about and learn about this valuable local environment.
With this in mind, the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) have worked with schools, parents and organisations in the AONB Partnership to develop a set of Coastal Knowledge Fact Sheets for 7-11 year olds.

Aimed at getting young people in Suffolk excited about their local environment, and encouraging teachers and parents to explore the local area with their children, the fact sheets are packed full of fun experiments and activities to do both in and out of doors. Using fun characters like “Landscape Man”, “Cliff” and “Ma Tello” the fact sheets help explain complex processes, encouraging youngsters to explore and learn about Suffolk’s wonderful countryside and coastline.
The Coastal Knowledge Fact Sheets are available to download free of charge from the AONB website at www.suffolkcoastandheaths.org.
