Once a 16th century coaching house, the Crown in Framlingham has been lovingly restored and is now a popular hotel, restaurant and pub.
The Crown is situated in the heart of this lively market town. Seating at the front of the pub allow visitors to watch the world go by – particularly enjoyable on market days – when the market hill is bustling with its popular food, drink and clothes stalls.
The hotel rooms are decorated in traditional coaching inn style, a reminder of the building’s original purpose as rest house for coach-drivers. The bar serves local ales and Aspall cider. The Crown has close links with local vineyards Shawsgate and Oak Hill and can arrange wine tastings and tours for hotel guests. Orchard tours can also be arranged around the Aspall site.
The Coach House function room with private bar and terrace offers an excellent venue for wedding receptions and the magnificent St Michael’s Church is very close by.
