RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve

Discover nature together on the beautiful Suffolk coast. Wander among the wetlands and woods, potter along the beach, and pause to watch some amazing wildlife.

Explore the Wild Zone with the family, then sample some delicious home-cooked, locally-sourced food in the cafe.

RSPB Minsmere is a great place to bring the family to enjoy nature on the Suffolk coast. After a friendly welcome in the visitor centre, there’s a choice of easy walks through beautiful woodland, wetland and coastal scenery.

The wildlife changes throughout the year but includes an amazing variety of birds, insects, flowers and other wildlife. Volunteer guides are on hand to help you to find bittern, otter, avocet or red deer.

Families can build a den together, explore the trails and play in the Wild Zone’s sand martin tunnels. Follow the seasonal self-guided trails in search of Minsmere’s wildlife. Families can take part in family activities, like pond dipping or minibeast hunting, with the friendly volunteers, during school holidays.

Join the friendly, knowledgeable guides and discover more about Minsmere’s wildlife on our guided walks and safaris. Reserve your space online or ask at reception: https://events.rspb.org.uk/minsmere

Due to the sensitive wildlife and habitats, dogs are not allowed (except registered assistance dogs) on the trails or hides. Dogs are welcome in the Visitor Centre, Shop and Café. Other exciting dog walking routes are available to enjoy in the local area, ask the staff for a map and directions. Dogs can die in hot cars, please do not leave your dog in the car when visiting.
