The Red House

The music of Benjamin Britten is the soundtrack of the Suffolk coast. At The Red House in Aldeburgh you can explore the life and work of this world-famous composer in the place where he lived and worked. Discover Benjamin Britten – one of the world’s great composers – in an engaging exhibition for all ages. You can also imagine him hard at work in the studio where many of his masterpieces were written, or at the piano in his evocative library. In the summer you can look around the house he shared with Peter Pears, and play croquet in their extensive garden. The Britten Trail guides for adults and children help visitors explore related sites in the area that so inspired him.

See website for opening hours, guided tours, special events and free summer minibus service.
