Celebrate the first annual Suffolk Day
Celebrate the first annual Suffolk Day at Suffolk Food Hall, spearheaded by Suffolk Horse Society and their demonstrations. Also in attendance is Suffolk Land Rover Owner's Club!
On Wednesday 21st June the Suffolk Horse Society, with iconic Suffolk Punch horses, is set to lead afternoon celebrations on Suffolk Day at the Suffolk Food Hall.
Mares and foals, braiding and harnessing, drays and wagons will all be on parade highlighting the agricultural past for which the local area is famed.
The Society also plans to run a genuine Suffolk timber snigging display; the historical method by which heavy timber was moved and transported before the introduction of modern day machinery.
And, courtesy of Heritage Lottery Fund and the Stour & Orwell Society, an outdoor cinema is planned screening nostalgic film of the area.
Alongside the demonstrations between 3pm and 7pm, the Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club plans to take people on a 4x4 assault course underneath the Orwell Bridge.
The Food Hall will also have a BBQ; burgers and award-winning sausages, filled with pork and beef from their own farms, will further the celebration of all that Suffolk has to offer.
