Summer dining by the sea in Aldeburgh on Suffolk’s Heritage Coast

With three superb restaurants overlooking the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast at Aldeburgh, the TA Hotel Collection has a justifiable reputation for offering a great choice of fantastic places to eat.

Whether you choose to dine in the Seafood & Grill at the Brudenell Hotel; the White Lion’s Brasserie Bleue, or the more exotic Sea Spice, the dishes focus on Suffolk’s fantastic natural larder from land and sea.

August Carnival Afternoon Tea on the beach at the White Lion

The White Lion’s themed Afternoon Tea menu changes monthly; during August the coastal hotel will be celebrating the town’s Carnival. Make the most of the seafront location during National Afternoon Tea Week, which runs from 14th – 20th August, and enjoy afternoon tea on the beach on Saturday, 18th August when the hotel will even loan you a picnic blanket! Afternoon Tea is served daily from 3pm to 5pm priced at £15 per person or £21 with a glass of sparkling Prosecco.

Carnival celebrations continue outside the White Lion on Monday, 20th August when a fully stocked bar will be open from 12noon and throughout the afternoon. Tuck into tasty oriental food from Sea Spice and listen to live music, while a face painter entertains the children.

Sea Spice

Relax and enjoy superb Indian cuisine along with craft beers and fine wines at the White Lion’s second restaurant, Sea Spice.  Menus offer an exciting array of classic favourites and contemporary dishes ranging from Goan inspired fish and seafood, to tandoor grilled meats, traditional fragrant curries and vegetarian options.

Dine on the terrace at the Brudenell Hotel

In the height of summer, stop for a refreshing drink or a delicious meal and take in the breath-taking views of Aldeburgh’s beach from the Brudenell’s sea facing terrace. You can dine alfresco listening to the waves on the beach, or eat in the stylish restaurant, away from the sea breeze but still watching the boats go by through the floor to ceiling windows. A seafood calendar features a different fish or seafood each month, during August the focus is on lobster.
