Summer Holiday Kids Guide

The summer holidays are here! Whether you're visiting on holiday or are local to The Suffolk Coast, there's plenty on offer to keep the kids entertained! 

1. Summer Activities on Lowestoft Beach

Beginning on Tuesday 25th July, there's a wide range of sporting activities on offer at Lowestoft Beach until 24th August. The beach events include boxing, tag rugby, dodgeball, cricket, futsall and giant volleyball. On 17th August, there will also be a giant climbing wall located in the Clifton Road Car Park.

Sign in for activities will be from 12.30pm at Beach Hut 121, just south of Claremont Pier.

2. Wild Woods at RSPB Minsmere

A brand new holiday club for 7 - 12 year olds set in the wilderness of the woods at RSPB Minsmere. There will be 6 sessions of exploring the woodland, discovering wildlife, learning bushcraft skills and playing games around the campfire.

Sessions take place from 10am - 12pm on 28th July, 4th August, 11th August, 18th August, 25th August and 1st September.

3. Tales & Treasures at Southwold Boating Lake and Tearoom

Head to Southwold Boating Lake and Tearoom on Sunday 30th July, where Beach Bonkers will have a tableful of beachcombing treasures for you to explore, a mini-beach to search and a giant beachcombing board game to play. Seaside tales will also be told throughout the day thanks to Southwold Library staff. 

No trip to the boating lake is complete without an ice cream, and a sail in one of the boats and before you head off, you can enjoy a game of crazy golf too! 

Admission to the event is free (although there may be a charge or donation requested for some activities) and there is a charge for the boating lake and crazy golf.

4. Art Island at Snape Maltings

Open to children aged 8-12 years, this puppet making workshop takes place at the Tack Rooms at Snape Maltings on 10th August. The workshop will see participants make your own rod puppet, taking inspiration of Greek myths and legends! At the end of the day the group will perform their stories to one another.

5. Treasure Island - Play in a Week at The Marina Theatre, Lowestoft

A fantastic opportunity for young theatre enthusiasts! A performance team and a production team will combine to create an exciting one of a kind production of Treasure Island - all in a week from 14th - 18th August 2017 at The Marina Theatre, Lowestoft.

The week promises to be an action-packed, exciting challenge. The performance team will Llearn new acting techniques and create weird and wonderful characters. Whilst the production team will be responsible for designing and making props, costumes, set pieces and sounds for the show. 

Spaces in each team are limited to 16 so early booking is advised!

The cost is £100 per child for the week( with a 10% discount if you buy a 2nd ticket for a sibling!)
