Snape Maltings Pumpkin Trail - Friday 19th – Friday 26th October
Pick up a Pumpkin Trail map from the Visitor Centre or Little Rascals and find the pumpkins around Snape Maltings. The Pumpkin Trail ends in Little Rascals where a small prize for children will be waiting! There’s also a chance to enter a free prize draw. To enter, please complete the peep in touch card provided. Have fun!
Christmas Shopping - From Monday 6 October
Christmas arrives at Snape Maltings on Monday 6th October and the award-winning independent shops are filled with all things festive. House & Garden has everything you need for the perfect Christmas, from decorations and trees to table settings and cosy blankets, while The Food Hall and Pantry is packed with delicious and local artisan treats for the food-lover in your life. Find unique gifts in the Craft Shop, toys and treats in Little Rascals and everything you need to make your gifts looks perfect in Books and Cards.
Christmas in the Food Hall
Festive hampers will be available from October – December in the Food Hall at Snape Maltings. Choose from a pre-selected hamper or customise your own. There will also be festive tastings throughout the season – please check the website for more information.
Christmas Spectacular: The Nutcracker - Friday 7th – Sunday 16th December
Co-op Juniors present their annual Christmas Spectacular on the Concert Hall stage. With a cast of 100, a live orchestra and dazzling costumes and effects, you won’t want to miss this huge dose of Christmas magic.
The Maltings Gallery
Currently featuring an exhibition from Suffolk-based artist Emma Green (which also extends to an installation in The Dovecote) until Monday 5th November. On Saturday 3rd November, jeweller Alex Monroe will be joining us for a morning to share his stories, showcase his new collection and indulge in a Pump Street pastry (places are limited, tickets must be pre-booked).
From 8th November, head to the Maltings Gallery, where a curated selection of works from local artist and makers – reflecting the winter season in paintings, ceramics, glass, wood and jewellery – are all eminently giftable.
Christmas Weekend - Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd December
A weekend of music for the whole family, including Handel’s uplifting Messiah, a Christmas sing-along of much-loved festive hits led by Snape Maltings’ own choir, and Irish folk singer Cara Dillon. Christmas classic The Snowman returns to the Concert Hall (in a programme with Babar the Little Elephant narrated by Zeb Soanes) – experience the magic on a big screen accompanied by live orchestra.
Father Christmas arrives at Snape - Friday 21st December, 12pm
Bring the whole family to Snape for this wonderful festive spectacle as Father Christmas arrives at Snape Maltings by historic Thames sailing barge. After arriving at the quay at Snape Maltings, Father Christmas will make his way to House and Garden where there will be the opportunity for children to meet him.
Special Christmas Farmers’ Market - Saturday 22nd December 9.30am – 1pm
The Christmas Farmers’ Market offers locally sourced fresh produce as part of Snape Maltings’ Christmas season. The market has a wonderful bustling atmosphere and provides easy access for people to buy high quality, local foods and treats for Christmas direct from Suffolk’s artisan producers located at a world class music venue. It provides the chance to talk to producers directly and find out about where they source their ingredients from and the passions for good food that drive their businesses. There will also be the monthly Farmers’ Market on Saturday 1st December.
