Thorpeness Village Store

Situated in the picturesque seaside village of Thorpeness, the Village Store is an independent, friendly and well stocked village shop in the heart of the community serving both local residents and visitors alike.

Stocking a variety of products from your basic essentials such as bread, milk and loo roll to more luxurious products, a large range of scrumptious jams, preserves and ready meals produced by The Dolphin Inn.

There is an extensive deli counter offering products from Salter and King, a top butcher from nearby Aldeburgh, including Suffolk ham, glazed on the premises, sausages, bacon, fresh meats and a selection of local cheeses.  Every morning there are freshly baked breads, croissants and pastries – which really get your mouth watering and homemade sausage rolls (which are somewhat legendary).

The aim of the Shop is to provide a much needed service to the community which supports local producers and suppliers whilst at the same time being fully sustainable.  Where possible they try to source organic and environmentally friendly products.

They also sell postcards, greetings cards and stamps and have recently started stocking a small selection of gifts – this proved very popular over the festive season for those last minute purchases as did their ‘Build your own Hamper’ offer.
