Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape

The Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape is a stunning landscape packed full with wildlife and exciting places to explore and discover. 

This special designation covers 441 square kilometres of tranquil and unspoilt landscape including wildlife-rich estuaries, ancient heaths, windswept shingle beaches and historic towns and villages.

If you love nothing more than a long walk beside the sea, a brisk stroll before lunch, cycling along quiet lanes, sailing iconic estuaries, or spending hours quietly watching some of the UK's rarest wildlife, the beautiful landscape of the Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape has it all.

A source of inspiration to countless artists, writers and musicians, the National Landscape is a landscape rich in history but largely spared from modern development. The countryside, towns and villages in the National Landscape have an unspoilt and tranquil atmosphere and a distinctive character.
