Blackdog Antiques and Events

Blackdog Antiques is set at the top of the historic Market Place in Halesworth. Built around 1570 the Grade II* listed property is the perfect setting for the eclectic mix of antiques, vintage and mid-century modern pieces that it houses.

The attractive market town of Halesworth is just 9 miles from Southwold and the Suffolk Coast. The town has a pedestrianised Thoroughfare featuring lots of small independent businesses but head towards the church and you will come across the Medieval Market Place where Blackdog Antiques can be found.

The beautiful Tudor building has undergone major restoration and is a treat to see. Inside you will antique pine and mahogany pieces, mid-century modern industrial, vintage tools, pictures, taxidermy and lots more.

A Blackdog Event Ltd is an offshoot of Blackdog Antiques and was created soon after Blackdog moved to the Market Place in Halesworth primarily to put the 'Market back in the Market Place' which dates back to Medieval times.

Four specialist markets are held over the course of the year starting with the Spring Garden Market in April,  followed by the Midsummer Market in June.

On October 6th  the Food & Drink Market, which is a fringe event to the Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival celebrates local food & drink producers. The final market of the year is the Traditional Christmas Food, Drink & Artisan Market on Saturday December 8th.

On the antiques front, Blackdog Events started the Halesworth Brocante Antique & Vintage Fair in the Old Print Works back in 2016. Now in its third year it is held on the first Saturday of the month from March - December. With thirty-five Brocanteurs attending each month, there is an ever-changing array of antiques, vintage and collectables on offer.

The Grand Brocante at Glemham Hall made its debut this year in May and will take place again next year on Sunday 19th May. The Bungay Antiques Street Fair is in its 22nd year and will take place on Sunday 22nd July. There are 70 plus antique and vintage stalls booked, which along with a separate food court showcasing local producers, buskers and street food should make for a good day out.
