The music of Benjamin Britten is the soundtrack of the Suffolk coast. Britten (1913-1976) was one of the greatest composers of the twentieth century.
The Red House, Aldeburgh is the home Britten shared with his partner Peter Pears for the last two decades of his life and where he wrote many of his most famous works. Explore this wonderful site on the outskirts of Aldeburgh and discover the man and his music at home. You can walk through their house, studio and library, discover their lives in the gallery, drop in at the archive during weekday hours and explore the beautiful gardens that surround the site. There are activities for children and families including trails, activity sheets and games in the gardens.
See website for opening hours, guided tours, events and shuttlebus service.
