Archaeology Festival - Field Walking and Geophysics

Experience the skill and excitement of archaeology first hand whilst we celebrate all things to do with archaeology!

Take part in field walking and geophysics on Garden Field to help us build a better picture of this significant field which holds an early Anglo-Saxon burial ground. In the morning help us gather artifacts from under your feet by taking part in field walking. Training on the day is provided. This is a real opportunity to discover a piece of history!In the afternoon learn how to use a geophysics scanner to record what lays beneath you in the ground.

booking is not needed - This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.

Meeting point is Reception after you have paid admission.

Time - 11:00 - 16:00 Children are more than welcome to watch.

Unfortunately dogs are not welcome at this event.

Please wear sturdy shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing.

Unfortunately this activity is not wheelchair accessible.
