Beachcombing on Bawdsey Beach

10am-12pm

Bawdsey beach is beachcombing heaven: a cracking example of our Suffolk shingle and its plants, full of shells and full of sea glass.

Bawdsey beach is a fantastic location for beachcombing. It's a cracking example of our Suffolk shingle and its plants, full of shells and full of sea glass.

Meeting point: Bawdsey Quay car park. I will be obvious in a bright yellow hi viz logo'd jacket.
Please join ten minutes before the beachcomb begins so that it can start promptly, if you are late you won't be able to join in.

Beachcombing is suitable for children and adults alike. Hunting for treasure on our beaches is addictive whatever your age, so all are welcome.
It can be windy and cold on the beach even on a sunny day so wrap up with lots of layers for warmth and against the wind. Please wear shoes suitable for walking on shingle - flip-flops or open-toed sandals will be uncomfortable.
The weather can be very changeable but the beachcomb will go ahead unless it's torrential rain or high winds make the beach dangerous.

There is very limited parking on Bawdsey Quay itself. Please use the free council car park nearby (also on Ferry Road) which is a 2 minute walk from the quay. Please respect local residents and park considerately. Thank you.
