Rowe & Williams present 'By the Sea' a summer exhibition of museum quality modern British and Contemporary Art for sale that explores the coastal landscape of Suffolk and the neighbouring counties of Essex and Norfolk from the early 20th century to the present day. By the Sea exhibition includes a broad range of work by artists including John Doman Turner (who painted the famous Walberswick Scroll in 1931), Bertram Priestman (tutor of the artist Edward Seago), Elliott Seabrooke (painting of Heybridge Basin, formerly owned by the actress Vivien Leigh), John Arthur Dodgson (one of only 40 paintings to survive a devastating studio fire in 1964), Josselin Bodley, Campbell Mellon, Margaret Thomas, Lionel Bulmer and contemporary artists Frank Beanland, Colin Wilkin and concludes with a new set of amazingly detailed drawings by Alex Curry that celebrate often overlooked landmarks from four coastal Suffolk parishes.
