Discovery Session: Vaughan Williams’ Sinfonia Antartica (1949-52)

Join us at The Red House, Aldeburgh, Suffolk to learn more about the music Vaughan Williams composed for a film about Scott of the Antarctic in 1947, which Scott also used for his Sinfonia Antartica a few years later.

It is scored for a huge orchestra, and – like Holst’s Planets Suite – features a wordless female chorus. Learn more about this remarkable evocation of the stark polar landscape. With Lucy Walker.

11:00 am - 12:30 pm.
