Food Wars by Eastern Angles

Battles on the Home Front

Two plays in one night explore the battle for bread that took place on your doorstep.

Featuring two halves of story, it is a collaboration between Eastern Angles and New Heritage Solutions, which previously brought you Somewhere In England.

Oh, What A Lovely Food War is a series of comic music hall sketches on the first introduction of food rationing in England as a result of the U-Boat War. Discover how you would have coped with the Great British Bake Off during First World War, with the perils of rationing and potato flour!

Saving Our Bacon takes up the story in the Second World War, when pigs in blankets were something different and the black market was just around the corner. Real life memories have inspired the story of the often-forgotten struggles of the Home Front.
