Heritage Open Days - Ipswich Art Gallery

Visit Ipswich Art Museum as part of Heritage Open Days and be moved and inspired by all kinds of art forms, museum objects and more.

Built in 1930, Ipswich Art Gallery is the former premises of Ipswich School of Art and adjoins the Museum.

When the two buildings were linked, the museum collections provided direct inspiration for the work of both students and the staff. Their programme draws from Ipswich’s own art and museum collections, as well as touring exhibitions and their regular open season, which showcases work from local artists.

Current Exhibition: The Moon, Meet our Nearest Neighbour

This Exhibition will be open from 31 July - 10 October 2021 and features exciting objects on loan from Bespoke Scientific Limited, giving visitors the chance to discover what the Moon is made of, how it has influenced our history, culture and the natural world, and how we have explored it from ancient times to the present and future.
