Steam Up at The Long Shop Museum

Celebration of Steam

A celebration of steam power and family activity day held at the historical Long Shop Museum. Enjoy the sounds, smells and sights from the era of steam combined with activities for all the family to enjoy.

Spring may feel like it’s been a long time coming but the Long Shop Museum in Leiston will reopen in style by launching the 2019 season on Sunday 31st March with a fantastic steam and activity day from 10am-4pm. There will be large and small engines in steam, including their very own 10 ton steam roller Consuelo Allen and not forgetting the unique Garrett Suffolk Punch Steam Tractor “The Joker”. The last one of her kind.

Tea, coffee and scrumptious home made cakes available throughout the day! Sights to behold include displays from local model engineering societies and classic cars, as well as local heritage attractions coming along to demonstrate just what Suffolk has to offer.

There will be hands-on activities for children and more so do keep an eye on our website for further details.
No need to book – just come along! The admission price for this event will be £8 for adults, £6 for young people (aged 16-21) and £4 for children.
