The Hague String Trio at Concerts at Cratfield

Sunday August 14 at 3pm

Concerts at Cratfield presents The Hague String Trio.

This is the fourth concert in its 2022 summer season, which runs on alternate Sundays until September 11th. The Hague String Trio was founded by Justyna Briefjes, Julia Dinerstein & Miriam Kirby in 2006.

They perform regularly in The Netherlands, England, Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Their CD After the Darkness released in 2019, featuring music by Jewish composers whose lives were destroyed in the Second World War, received many accolades including 4-stars from the BBC music magazine, a 10 from the Dutch classical music magazine Luister, and a glowing review in Gramophone.

Their latest CD, Celebrating Women! is a collection of previously unrecorded string trios by female composers from the late 19th and first half of the 20th century. Concert generously supported by the Embassy of The Kingdom of The Netherlands.

Programme: Haydn: Divertimento Hob. XI:109 in C major; Smyth: String Trio in D major Op. 6; Britton Smith: Fugue in G minor; Beethoven: String Trio op. 9 no. 1 in G major
