Crown House Bed & Breakfast

A jewel of a B&B in a very quiet location, next to a lovely pub in the picturesque village of Great Glemham; just 1.5 miles off the A12 and 15 minutes from the sea.

Crown House is a grade II listed, 16th Century house, full of character, exposed beams and open fires with rooms boasting kingsize beds; fine down duvets and pillows, Egyptian cotton sheets and sympathetically designed, modern bathrooms.

Sasha's breakfasts are fast becoming the talk of Great Glemham! Using local produce from kippers to eggs, sourdough bread to bacon and sausages, the best black pudding, beautifully fried mushrooms and oven roasted tomatoes; homemade marmalades and jams, Aga baked porridge and a fruit salad to surpass all fruit salads or during the cooler months homemade pear or rhubarb compote - you won't be disappointed!

There are 3 kingsize rooms available:

The Garden Room is situated on the ground floor and has an ensuite shower room and a private lobby.

The Turret Room, the most romantic of the 3, located on the first floor, is like a mini apartment with stairs up to the bathroom above with a huge roll top bath and a view. There are steep winding stairs and low beams. It is possible to add a single bed for an extra cost.

The Rose Room, also on the first floor, is very prettily decorated. It is a double aspect room with an ensuite bathroom - shower over bath. All the bathrooms are brand new.

There is no twin but there is a 4th bedroom that may be used in conjunction with the Rose Room.

All the rooms have king-size mahogany sleigh beds with low footboard; pocket sprung mattresses, fine down pillows and duvets, Egyptian cotton bed linen and white towels. A tea and coffee (cafetière) tray plus a bottle of water is provided in each room. The rooms are without televisions but fibre optic free wifi is available in the rooms.

Breakfast is served between 8 and 10am in the low beamed 16th Century dining room, in which, during the colder months, there is a roaring log fire.

Opposite Crown House B&B you will find The Crown Inn, which offers home cooked food and a fine selection of ales. (Check for opening times) and there are many idyllic walks on offer in the fields and woods surrounding the village.
