Deben View - National Trust Sutton Hoo

A stunningly spacious period apartment with a marble bathroom and wooden verandah, surrounded by Anglo-Saxon history in the grounds of the National Trust Sutton Hoo estate.

Deben View is an elegant first-floor apartment based in Tranmer House, a place of fascinating history. It was here that the famous archaeological dig was ordered during the 1930sin which the remains of a rich Anglo-Saxon ship burial were discovered.

You will have views across this fascinating landscape and beyond to the River Deben, where you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets from its wooden verandah. If you have a soft spot for interiors, you'll appreciate its original features, including the period wood paneling in the living area. Walk in the footsteps of Anglo-Saxon royalty as you journey around Sutton Hoo's Royal Burial Ground.

Beyond the Sutton Hoo estate, lies the beautiful Deben Peninsula which is also home to the Suffolk Punch Trust (opening from 15 August with pre-booked tickets.) Rendlesham Forest is just a 15-minute drive away, and if you fancy venturing a little further National Trust Dunwich Heath and Beach is about a 40 minute drive up the coast.

All guests enjoy free access to any National Trust property for the duration of their stay in one of their holiday cottages.
