Wilford Apartment - National Trust Sutton Hoo

A cosy two-bedroom apartment in Tranmer House, set in 255 acres of fascinating history at National Trust Sutton Hoo.

Wilford is a second-floor apartment based in Tranmer House, on the Sutton Hoo estate. Inside it has an elegant Edwardian interior with a modern twist. It was here that the famous archaeological dig was ordered during the 1930s, in which the remains of a rich Anglo-Saxon ship burial were discovered.

The accommodation comprises of a long hallway leading to large kitchen/dining/sitting room, two bedrooms (1 double with 5' bed, 1 twin) and bathroom with shower attachment over bath.
NB: there is an external flight of stairs to the main entrance lobby to all 3 apartments, from which a further internal staircase leads to Kyson and Wilford apartments on the second floor.

You'll be able to enjoy walks on the open heath and woodland of the estate and down to the River Deben, as well as walk around Sutton Hoo's Royal Burial Ground.

Beyond the Sutton Hoo estate, lies the beautiful Deben Peninsula home which is also home to the Suffolk Punch Trust (opening from 15 August with pre-booked tickets.) Rendlesham Forest is just a 15-minute drive away, and if you fancy venturing a little further National Trust Dunwich Heath and Beach is about a 40 minute drive up the coast.

All guests enjoy free access to any National Trust property for the duration of their stay in one of their holiday cottages.
