The Food Hall is the perfect showcase for the very best of Suffolk's food and drink producers. The Craft Shop was the first shop to open at Snape Maltings and is nestled on the Quay. It offers handmade collections from around the UK, as well as Fairtrade products from artisan makers slightly further afield.

If it’s the fresh Suffolk air you’re looking for, the beautiful landscape around Snape Maltings can be explored on foot, by bike, and even by boat – with River Trips running from the quayside throughout the year. Popular walking routes include the loop through Snape Warren and the riverside walk to Iken Church – and for birdwatchers and nature lovers, the tidal River Alde and surrounding marshes are a haven for hundreds of species of birds and other wildlife, including the occasional seal!

The renowned Aldeburgh Festival, founded by composer Benjamin Britten and his partner, the singer, Peter Pears, also takes place in June each year. The Aldeburgh Festival 2023 takes place from 9 – 25 June. Alongside the performance programme, Britten Pears Arts runs community and outreach programmes in Suffolk and beyond, provides artist development opportunities for musicians at all career stages, and is a leader in national conversations around music, health and wellbeing.
