The Alfred Corry Lifeboat Museum

Experiences, History & Heritage
The Museum is the home of the 1893 No I Southwold lifeboat named the Alfred Corry
It has been renovated over a number of years by a volunteer crew who have brought it back to its original condition.
It is the last rowing/sailing lifeboat used on the East Coast and is housed in the old lifeboat shed from Cromer Pier
Apart from the lifeboat itself there are many pictures and accounts of rescues and details of the life of the many fishermen who worked for their living off Southwold beach.
There are also videos and details of the storms that swept many if the beachmen from their homes along the shore and the history of the busy fishing industry at that time
