Café Bencotto brings together the flavours of Greece, Spain, the Levant, North Africa and Italy, reflected across its menus and daily specials. Brunch is served until 4pm, featuring focaccia sandwiches, risotto cakes and well-loved dishes such as shakshouka and huevos estrellados. Guests can also dine in true Mediterranean style with small plates and mixed boards to share, enjoy authentic pizza, pasta and grill dishes from the main menu, or pair cocktails with a selection of tapas. The restaurant operates an informal “just turn up” approach, with bookings available for parties of eight or more, and is known for its warm welcome and lively atmosphere.
Situated on Felixstowe’s main thoroughfare, Hamilton Road, Café Bencotto occupies a beautifully restored former fire station. The interior blends original features with contemporary touches, combining exposed brickwork, reclaimed bar elements and original glazed tiles with gilt-framed mirrors, statement chandeliers and leather seating. Guests can watch the world go by from the front windows, settle into the heated courtyard for a relaxed brunch, or dine beside the open kitchen and see the chefs at work.
