Swift Willow Weaving Workshop at RSPB Minsmere
In June, to celebrate the return of migratory birds, the Coddiwomplers will be teaching a willow swift workshop.
Guided by two experienced basket makers, you’ll learn traditional willow weaving skills and techniques while creating beautiful pieces for your home or garden.This project uses ‘flat weave’, which is a simple, versatile weave that is perfect for beginners. During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to weave 1 or 2 swifts (or are they swallows?) and some willow leaves.
The course is suitable for beginners, so no prior experience is required. However, manual dexterity and hand strength will be needed.
Teas, coffees, and biscuits will be provided.
