493rd Bomb Group Museum

Debach Airfield was a USAAF Heavy Bomber base with 70 B24 and B17 bombers, serviced by 3000 personnel from 1942 to 1945. A private museum run by a small band of volunteers dedicated to the men who worked at the base and those 250 who lost their lives in WWII stationed at the airbase. 

Displays include the Control Tower and four other buildings full of WWII memorabilia and WWII military vehicles.

Light refreshments can be purchased at the visitor centre.

Museum openings for 2027:

The Open Days are held on last Sunday of the month from April to September.

APRIL - Military Vehicle Road Run.

JULY - Classic Car day.

SEPTEMBER - Jeep day and Military Vehicle Road Run. This is normally the biggest event of the year with up to 80 military vehicles visiting the museum. At these events the museum buildings will be open.

It is also possible to visit the museum on a Wednesday, by appointment only on 07850 078432.

Caravan and Camping is available.
