Blythburgh Heritage Railway Centre

The Blythburgh Railway Heritage Centre tells the story of the former Southwold Railway that operated through the village between 1879 and 1929. A recreation of the station, trains and setting from 100 years ago.

With the renovated 1879 Coal Shed, restored platform, tracks and replica rolling stock setting the scene the volunteers love to explain the history of this quirky 3' railway.

Open Tuesdays and special event days from Easter to October. On event days you can ride in the first passenger trains for nearly 100 years with film shows, model railways, refreshments etc. at the adjacent Village Hall.

There are dog friendly scenic walks from the site with a great pub across the road.
