Iken Canoe

Iken Canoe hires out Canadian canoes on the stunning upper reaches of the River Alde between Snape and Aldeburgh, close to the Suffolk coast.

Use of equipment can be hired for up to 2 hours. All craft are suitable for a wide range of skill levels and are ideal for couples, groups or family outings.

Buoyancy aids, paddles and dry bags are all included. Iken Canoe will also provide you with a full safety briefing, a map and suggestions as to where you might explore while on the river.

We ask all customers to respect the river environment, the wildlife and habitat.

Iken Canoe is open weekends-only in April, May, June, September and October, and every day in July and August (tides and weather permitting).

Cost (for 2hr hire):

Canadian canoe (2 or 3 adults) £40 total. Two adults and two small children (aged 7-11) can also go in one canoe. It is not recommended for one adult on their own with small children as sometimes it can be difficult to make progress against wind and tide in a Canadian canoe.
