Walpole Old Chapel

Walpole Old Chapel is one of the earliest non-conformist chapels in the region. It was created in c1690, by the fiercely independent local congregation, who converted an existing C16th farmhouse. It has changed very little since. Visitors are captivated by the simplicity and authenticity of the interior.

The chapel is open to the public on Saturday afternoons from 2.00pm - 4.30pm, from 16th April till 24th September (excluding 30th April, 21st May and 2nd July, ). It is also open, at the same times, on the following bank holidays - 18th April, 2nd May, 29th August.

The knowledgeable stewards will be on hand to answer your questions and help you get the most from your visit.

Private visits are welcomed by prior arrangement.

The chapel is also a unique performance venue. Please see our website for details of concerts and other events this year.
