Walpole Old Chapel

Walpole Old Chapel is one of the earliest non-conformist chapels in the region. It was created in c1690, by the fiercely independent local congregation, who converted an existing C16th farmhouse. It has changed very little since. Visitors are captivated by the simplicity and authenticity of the interior.

The chapel is open to the public on Saturday afternoons from 2.00pm - 4.30pm, from 26th June till 30th October (excluding 17th July). It is also open, at the same times, on Wednesday afternoons from 21st July till 25th August.

The knowledgeable stewards will be on hand to answer your questions and help you get the most from your visit.

Private visits are welcomed by prior arrangement.

The chapel is also a unique performance venue. Please see our website for details of concerts and other events this year.
