Britten: Canticles - What's On - Snape, Suffolk

Britten Pears Arts welcomes tenor, Allan Clayton, to the Snape Maltings Concert Hall for a haunting evening of Britten's Cantticles.

Performed by a superb roster of singers and instrumentalists – five miniature works invite the listener into a diverse and richly emotional world.

Written for Britten’s partner, Peter Pears, these works are intimate and spiritually charged, and reflect Britten’s interests in poetry, religion and the human condition, together charting his musical evolution over an almost thirty-year period.

With English surtitles.
