Heritage Open Days at The Red House

For this year’s Heritage Open Day weekend, explore The Red House, Aldeburgh, Suffolk for free on Saturday and Sunday afternoon for some special events!

The events will include a screening and short talk exploring Britten’s keen interest in cinema, his early career in writing film music, and later helping to support Aldeburgh Cinema (celebrating its 100th birthday this year); guided visits of the private rooms of The Red House; and an exhibition in the Archive looking at the history of shopping from the 1940s to the 1970s, looking at how documents uncover Britten and Pears’ lifestyle and the changing town.

Admission free.

Saturday 21 September at 1:00 pm - Sunday 22 September at 5:00 pm.
