May Half Term at Sutton Hoo

Tales of buried treasure and mysterious mounds await you at Sutton Hoo this half-term. Imagine what it was really like to be an archaeologist on the eve of a discovery inside Tranmer House or visit the High Hall to find out more about the fascinating treasures that were discovered deep underground.

Are you fascinated by the Sutton Hoo discovery? Experience the thrill and excitement of an archaeological dig in a hands-on sand tray session - perfect for little explorers! Sessions are running on 25th 26th and 29th May. You can also join the Anglo-Saxon storytellers on the 26th May and go on a journey through time!

On the 27th and 28th May you can see part of the Beowulf story brought to life - with puppets! Rattlebox Theatre who will bring their unique mix of storytelling and puppetry together at Sutton Hoo. Performances will take place at 11.15am, 12.30pm and 2pm.

On the 29th May, all budding archaeologists will have a rare chance to get up close to objects gathered from real archaeological digs, as well as replicas linked to the Sutton Hoo story. All these events are free with admission to Sutton Hoo and there is no need to book, just turn up on the day.
