Middleton Open Gardens

c.18 gardens, formal and informal, large and small

The ever popular Middleton-cum-Fordley Open Gardens returns on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June. There are c.18 gardens this year - many new to this event - ranging from formal to a wildlife reserve and everything in between, with gardens varying in size from just a patio to over 5 acres.
The Open Gardens event offers an eclectic and exciting mix of gardens, some conventional and formal, others more informal or relaxed, including some new to our event. Approximately 18 gardens will be open (the total may vary from day to day).

In the pretty village of Middleton, there are gardens stretching down to the Minsmere River and others overlooking Middleton Moor. Some with views of the marshes and others across the fields, some with the Spire of Holy Trinity Church seen piercing the sky in the distance. Many of the gardens have a story to tell, of both their creation and development over the years.

Several of the gardeners cleverly borrow the beautiful surrounding Suffolk landscape, to attract animals, insects, plants and birds. You will also find a herd of alpacas grazing quietly in fields within the village.

Displays by children of Middleton primary school will be displayed in the church. There will also be Art, vintage clothes and ceramics on sale, and refreshments will be available all day.
