Opera Cameratina: Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day

A weekend celebrating the music of Gustav and Imogen Holst

Opera Cameratina is hosting a weekend of music by Gustav and Imogen Holst curated by Susanne Stranders of the Royal Opera House with Dame Felicity Palmer and the Ellipsis Ensemble. Musical highlights include short operas ‘Savitri’ & ‘The Wandering Scholar’ by Gustav Holst and a recital dedicated to Imogen Holst and her contemporaries.
Gustav Holst needs no introduction, although his operas are less well known. Conversely, Imogen, his daughter, is only now becoming established as a fine composer in her own right.

Susanna Stranders of The Royal Ballet and Opera has created the programme, working with Dame Felicity Palmer, who has not only recorded works by Gustav Holst but also worked alongside Imogen.

Five young opera singers explore the Holsts' music, performing a double-bill of Gustav’s short operas, Savitri and The Wandering Scholar. This will be a matinee.

The singers will also support Dame Felicity in a Recital of works by Imogen and her contemporaries. The performances will be accompanied throughout by the Ellipsis Ensemble.
