An evening of Latin grooves and nu-folk with live music from British-Uruguayan artist Alex Etchart and singer-songwriter Emma O'Reilly, plus global beats DJ Sherpa Beats.

Sonic Wave presents a special double-bill, as part of a new concert series championing original music.

Alex Etchart & Vientos bring their soulful dancescapes to The Fisher Theatre, blending LatinX and British folk traditions with euphoric electronica. Glorious synth pads, tropical percussion and lush harmonies come together to craft modern ballads of joy and justice. The group is led by Alex Etchart, the Anglo-Uruguayan multi-instrumentalist and activist who also leads folk star Sam Lee's Fire Choir; Lee praised him as "cross-pollinating communities and spaces, keeping the folk flame alive in ways only Alex can".

Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Emma O’Reilly is a unique talent with a voice as powerful as her lyrics. Fusing classical, folk and alternative pop-rock, she pulls together an array of imaginative and enchanting sounds that are, according to Pure M magazine, “nothing short of genius".

Plus global beats and rare groove with DJ Sherpa Beats from 7pm (concert starts at 7:30pm).
