The Rococos – Petit Divertissement Baroque

17th & 18th century French music

A programme of French music from the late 17th / early 18th centuries, with music by Hotteterre, Marais, Charpentier, Senaillé, Couperin and Daquin.

The Rococos are a flexible group of Suffolk musicians specialising in the music of the Baroque period. They play instruments that are mostly copies of instruments made at the time in which the music was written – their electronic keyboard serves as a harpsichord, organ or fortepiano, when time does not permit the setting up and tuning of their harpsichord.

They aim to reproduce the music in a sound and style which would have been familiar to the composers whose music we play.
