A contemporary bed and breakfast set in five acres of tranquil garden and woodland

Seven years ago Bruce and David opened Five Acre Barn - a cedar shingle guest wing (voted by RIBA as one of the top 50 buildings of 2018) attached to a nineteenth century barn.  They have gone on to be rated as one of the country's finest B&Bs by The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times and Conder Nast Traveller

With the Suffolk coast on your doorstep you have much to tempt you out and about (there is a public footpath out to the Coast at the bottom of the garden). If however, you do you just want to relax 'at home' then you can hang out by the wood burner in the Barn (mid-century vibes), flick through our many books, play a game of chess or chat with new found friends.  Surrounding the property are five acres of  glorious gardens and woodland to explore, enjoy a sundowner or a barbecue.

Guests can choose from five bright, 'Scandi' rooms - think concrete and plywood - each with their own sitting room, bathroom and garden decks. Room Five is fully accessible.

Breakfast is a highlight (highly rated by Jay Rayner, no less), and the barn is only five minutes away from great local restaurants. You should also be able to find your favourite tipple from the well-stocked 'Honesty' bar .

Delicious food doesn't start and end with breakfast - we  welcome all our guests with a cup of tea and a slice of cake (and in general there are always home baked goodies in the Barn). Children over 12 are welcome and the accommodation is very dog-friendly (we have two of our own - Ruby and Lola).

The whole property is also available to hire - it's the perfect place for a family get together, small corporate event or party. Rates depend on the time of year and as Five Acre Barn is primarily a B&B it's a good idea to book well in advance!
