The peace and quiet of this campsites' surroundings make this an ideal location for a 'get away from it all' relaxing break. Dog friendly and accessible, the campsite is suitable for all ages.
Situated between the coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh with many miles of walks and cycle rides in the area and a good choice of traditional local pubs to refresh yourself en-route, there’s no better place to relax and make the most of what Suffolk has to offer. Being adjacent to Suffolk Wildlife Trust Darsham Marshes nature reserve and a few minutes drive to RSPB Minsmere and National Trust Dunwich Heath, as well as having on-site wildlife areas, the site is well placed for bird and nature watching.
At the campsite, you’ll find friendly, helpful staff who are only too happy to answer your queries and supply you with any local information you may need. There are 40 spacious grass and hard standing touring pitches, all with electric hook up available and fresh water taps close by plus seasonal pitches for touring caravans and non electric pitches suitable for tents.
The site has three heated toilet/shower blocks, two having their own disabled access toilet/shower room and a utility room for washing up. A freezer is available to refreeze your ice blocks and a there is a small but well-stocked licensed shop. The log cabin laundry room houses the token operated washing machine and tumble drier, tourist information and charity book shelf.
For the anglers there are two well stocked fishing lakes. Georges Lake has a ramped access path and an easy access fishing platform.
The lakes are stocked with carp, bream, tench, roach and rudd. Carp up to 30LB.
The area beside the Kingfisher Lake is given over to a wetland habitat and pond purely for wildlife.
The Kingfisher Lake Camping Pods are lakeside, self contained, camping pods which sleep up to four and are dog friendly. They make an ideal alternative to camping during the cooler months and offer accommodation to those without their own caravan.
For 4 legged campers, there are designated off-road dog walking trails around the farm and longer walks from the campsite directly onto local footpaths and quiet village lanes.
NEW FOR 2023
The Chuckwagon catering wagon is located in a converted airstream caravan and will be open for takeaway food on Friday, Saturday, Sunday evenings also Saturday and Sunday evenings.
A large car charger point is available for use by customers.
