Shottisham Campsite

Sustainable, low-impact holidays!

Shottisham Campsite welcomes you to fifty spacious touring and camping pitches spread between five small fields, sheltered by native trees and bushes in the heart of the Deben Peninsula.

This beautiful campsite is part of a working smallholding with rare breed goats, pigs, alpacas and chickens - and you are welcome to help as the animals are fed and eggs collected each evening.

The campsite is committed to sustainable, low-impact living. It is managed in accordance with organic principles and power is all from renewable sources, much of it produced on site by the photovoltaic array.

Get a cosy fire going in the firepits, which the site hires out and bring your four legged friends along to join you at this dog-friendly site, dogs on secure leads are welcome. Enjoy direct access from the campsite to walking trails through acres of heathland, forest and fields, just a short distance away from the beautiful, wild Suffolk coast.

The shower blocks are powered by solar energy, with plenty of hot water, offering disabled access/family toilet and basins. A new toilet/shower building has doubled the facilities. There are dish-washing areas, a septic emptying point, waste and recycling bins and a fridge-freezer.

The site sells their own home-reared, rare-breed sausages and bacon, as well as eggs, honey and jams, all from their smallholding. In addition, the Blue Rabbit Cafe is now open, selling home-made breakfasts, brunches and cakes, with Pete's Pizzas available most Fridays too. Just two miles away is an excellent local shop with more shops in the nearby market town of Woodbridge.

Glamping at Shottisham Campsite

Glampers can hire the fully-equipped bell tent, situated in a very secluded area of the campsite among the trees. It sleeps up to five with a king size bed, futon double bed and futon single bed.

Enjoy sitting outside in the evening with a campfire keeping you warm and fairy lights twinkling under the stars, before heading inside to a lovely snuggly bed for a great night's sleep. You will wake up refreshed and ready for a very special breakfast! Enjoy free-range eggs and sausages all from the smallholding.

The bell tent comes with electric hook-up so you can re-charge your phone (if you really want to) and boil a kettle for early morning coffee or tea. There is also a fridge for keeping your milk and beer cold!
