Dunwich Heath and Beach is a precious landscape on the Suffolk coast where you can experience a true sense of being at one with nature.

Explore a number of footpaths leading you through a myriad of habitats and discover the birds and animals that call Dunwich Heath home. If you want to stay longer there are holiday cottages available too.

Dunwich Heath has been in the care of the National Trust for over 50 years. The heath is accessible by foot daily from dawn to dusk. The car park and visitor facilities are open all summer and weekends in the winter months - see the website for full details about access and opening times.

A day trip to Dunwich will offer you the chance to walk, relax, explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. From July to September the heath comes alive with colour; a patchwork of pink and purple heather and coconut-scented yellow gorse is an unmissable experience.

A warm welcome awaits you in the tea room; relax and enjoy a drink outdoors in the seating area and enjoy a freshly baked scone or homemade cake. The small, friendly team prepares freshly made food using ethically-sourced ingredients.
