The call of pumpkin patches is impossible to resist, as they offer a whimsical and quintessentially autumnal experience. We've scoured The Suffolk Coast high and low in search of the perfect pumpkin patch, so all you need to do is pop on your wellies, grab your wheelbarrow and get picking!

Old Hall, Southwold

Old Hall Southwold - Pumpkin Patch

Open daily from 9.30am - 4.30pm from 14 - 29 October, the pumpkin patch at Old Hall near Southwold is a great place to head for a family day out. 

Here you will find pumpkins of all shapes and sizes; weird or wonderful orange or green, there are many types to choose from including pumpkins, squashes and gourds in orange, white, pale grey, pink, yellow; Polar Bear, Turks Turbin, Crown Prince, Casperati, Red October to name but a few! 

Entry to the patch is free and you only pay for what you pick (pumpkins prices vary according to size.).

Old Hall is also home to the famous maize maze, and this Halloween there's a fun, family scare event running from 21-29 October, featuring 2 scare mazes, and undercover activities in the barn. Plus the onsite cafe serves a delicious range of meals, snacks, cakes and hot and cold drinks - perfect to warm up with on a chilly (or rainy!) autumnal day.

Wrentham Pumpkins

The famous Christmas tree fields are filled with hues of orange this autumn. Located at Wrentham, just a short drive from Southwold, Beccles and Kessingland; the farm is open daily from 9am - 4pm until 31 October. Pumpkins range in size he pumpkins will range in price from £1 to £15 depending on their size. There is plenty of different shapes and sizes to suit every budget, and kids will love looking out for the creatively constructed hay bales and there's a perfect picture spot for you to take photos of the  kiddies to remember the experience.

Dogs are welcome but need to be kept on a lead and picked up after.

Woodbridge Pumpkin Patch

Woodbridge Pumpkin Patch

Situated on James Foskett Farm near Woodbridge, this rustic pumpkin patch is open daily from 10am - 4pm. The open fields are ripe with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. There's plenty of parking but the open fields do make muddy work of it so wellies are essential! 

There's a coffee van selling hot drinks and snacks, plus you can buy an array of freshly picked produce from the farm.

Dogs are not permitted at this patch.

Akenham Hall Farm, Ipswich

Akenham Hall’s vibrant Pumpkin Patch has come alive with a riot of orange hues. Here, not only can you select the perfect pumpkin for carving, children can have a bounce on the bouncy castle and get their face or arms painted with spooky designs. While grown-ups can peruse the shop selling seasonal gifts and produce.

During half term, The Mobile Pizza Co will be selling freshly cooked pizzas, a coffee van will be on hand to warm you up with hot drinks, and ice creams will also be on sale from the ice cream van, plus the farms tractors will b e on display!

Goslings Farm, Felixstowe

This charming farm shop offers P.Y.O throughout the year, growing and selling everything from strawberries and apples, to plums and pumpkins. 

Open daily from 10am - 4pm, the pumpkin patch has been given a spooky makeover, with graves, cobwebs and photo backdrops for all to enjoy (including dogs, which are welcome!)

The farm is also home to Goslings Farm Shop, which sells a huge array of their own grown and local produce, a garden centre and a cafe; serving delicious breakfasts, lunches, plus afternoon coffee and cake for hungry gardeners and loyal locals alike.
