Hippersons Boatyard

FLEXIBLE BOOKINGS

Some of the best ways to see and experience the river! Hippersons Boatyard offers day boats, canoes, kayaks, stand up paddleboards (SUPs) and pedal boat hire on the southern reach of the Norfolk Broads in Beccles.

Day Boat, Canoe, Kayak, pedal boat and SUP hire

With day boat hire from 9.15am till 4.30pm, costing just £135 for the day, and canoes  and kayaks hires from 2 hours at £30 both offer memorable ways to bring the river to life.

Canoes, kayaks, SUPs snd pedal boats are a unique way to explore the Waveney River and Valley. You can also get up close to nature: Kingfishes, Marsh Harriers, and Herons are some of the regular sightings by customers.

You have the opportunity to hire a pair of paddle boards for the day with a friend, as long as you can prove your competence on the board by performing a self-rescue, or sharing your certification or membership of a professional organisation for SUPs, to ensure you are safe on the river. If you are unsure, new to SUPs or a little rusty, you can book a SUP two hour lesson, where all you need to be safe will be covered.

For the ultimate two person luxury exploration by manpower, the pedal boat is a unique experience that will allow you time to drift and enjoy, there is plenty of room for a picnic too.

For something more leisurely why not take a day boat for the day. In a day you can cruise from Hippersons Boatyard up to Oulton Broad. Once at the broad there's a choice of a pub  lunch, cafes by a play park with free mooring at the harbour, and for the art lover, you can try and find the Banksy located in the Nicholas Everett park. After lunch, enjoy a leisurely cruise back to the yard and if you arrive with time to spare, cruise past the beautiful back gardens of Beccles and spot local wildlife! Want a romantic day without anyone else, you could always book one of Pauline's bespoke picnics and have lunch on a secluded mooring at North Cove.

All boats have canopies which can keep off the rain or the sun and buoyancy aids are provided for all human passengers, fuel and parking is included in the price of all the experiences.

Hippersons' Guided Tours & Experiences

If you would like to go out on a canoe or a kayak, but would like to go with someone to show you the way and the paddle technique, why not try a Hippersons guided tour?

If you're new to the water, book a guided canoe or kayak tours with Hippersons' guides, or enjoy SUP lessons with Hippersons' qualified instructor. In July and August you can also enjoy a magical twilight tour with the guide; the setting sun makes it an extra special experience. The twilight tours are booked bespoke on request by calling the office.

Whatever way you want to do it, Hippersons can help you to bring the river to life in a way that will create lasting memories for you to take away and turn into shared stories.
